After occupying five
different sites on Main St. (Pennsylvania Ave.), the
Tyrone Post Office relocated into the Conrad Building
in 1895. (Refer to tour stop No.
3.)
On December 30, 1930, an open
house was held for a new post office building on its
present site. It replaced two buildings housing stores
and dwellings. Tyrone, a first-class post office, rates
among the top ten percent of post offices across the
United States.
The second floor of the
building contains several offices and the Rural
Delivery Training Academy.
