Opened in November 2002, the Tyrone History Museum contains a selection of Tyrone-related artifacts, photographs, and displays. The museum features a time line spanning the 150-plus years of Tyrone's existence along with exhibits that change from time to time.
The museum is located at 850 Pennsylvania Ave. (at the Tyrone Rail Park).
Hours of operation: 1 to 4 p.m. on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Currently, a new exhibit is open comprising original Wilson Chemical Company pictures that years ago were given to customers when they purchased a tin of White Cloverine Salve. The gallery of more than 70 lithographs — now popular collectors' items — will be on display through May.
A presentation titled "Little Juniata River: Enjoyable — Still Navigable" will be given by newspaper columnist Dave Hurst at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 14 at one of the Society's program meetings.
